STAND STRONG

LEARN TO DEFEND YOURSELF WITH COMBATIVES AND CLINCH FIGHTING.

Minus a few exceptions, most fights and attacks will start on the feet.  For street self-defense it's not wise to end up on the ground, especially if you are concerned about multiple attackers, rough terrain and weapons being deployed.  So it is critical that you learn how resist, defend and win standing altercations.  In this class we will teach you these things.  We will teach you how to stand strong, defend yourself and how to respond with violence of action.

WHAT TO EXPECT

This is a 50-minute weekly class consisting of standing self-defense, defensive tactics, combatives, striking, takedown defense and clinch fighting.  Each class is unique and any experience level is welcome.   Although each class will be unique, we will always focus on developing and maintaining core competencies, fundamentals and basic self-defense principles.

Classes will involve a variety of training modalities, including partner tit-for-tat drills, bag drills, pad holding drills, "bad day" drills and optional sparring.  Bring athletic shoes and flip flops.  Most classes will be held on the matted area (no shoes), but occasionally we will train with shoes on the rubber floor area.  If training without shoes, flip flops are necessary to enter/exit the bathroom (for hygiene reasons).  We have water fountains if you forget a water bottle or want to fill yours up.

WHAT YOU NEED

You will need 1 pair of MMA gloves + 1 pair of Boxing Gloves + 1 pair of Handwraps + Mouth Guard.   Although not required, we recommend 1 pair of Shin Guards (with ankle coverage) + Cup/Groin protector.  Don't worry, we aren't beating the tar out of each other.  However, to learn real world self-defense, contact with other people is a necessity.  Therefore, it's best to stay protected, healthy and injury free.   We have MMA Gloves, Boxing Gloves, Handwraps and Shinguards available for purchase.  If you would like to purchase any gear or have us recommend reputable brands, just email us at info@TriangleSelf-Defense.com.

GROUND DEFENSE

Learn TO DEFEND YOURSELF WITH GROUND FIGHTING AND SUBMISSION GRAPPLING.

The ground can be a scary place if you've never trained off your back.  With proper training, fundamentals and mindset you can be quite dangerous and capable on the ground.  One main distinction between our ground fighting system and other grappling arts is our emphasis on targeting critical anatomy, employing violence of action and getting up as soon as possible.  In this class we will teach you these things.  We will teach you how to escape, counter, evade and dominate on the ground.

WHAT TO EXPECT

This is a 50-minute weekly class consisting of ground self-defense, submission grappling, ground combatives, choke offense/defense, and ground striking.  Each class is unique and any experience level is welcome. Although each class will be unique, we will always focus on developing and maintaining core competencies, fundamentals and basic self-defense principles.

Classes will involve a variety of training modalities, including partner flow drills, grappling dummy drills, ground and pound training, "bad position" drills, live rolling and pad training.

You will need 1 pair of MMA gloves +  Cup/Groin protector + Mouth Guard.  Although not required, we recommend Spats/Compression Pants + Long Sleeve Rash Guard.  Don't worry, we aren't ground and pounding each other into submission. However, to learn real world ground self-defense, contact with other people is a necessity. Therefore, it's best to stay protected, healthy and injury free.  We have MMA Gloves and Rashguards available for purchase. If you would like to purchase any gear or have us recommend reputable brands, just email us at info@TriangleSelf-Defense.com and put "Gear Purchase/Recommendation" in the subject line.

You will need 1 Trainer Blade and 1 Pair of Kali/Escrima Sticks. Although not required, we recommend 1 Pair of Hockey Gloves, 1 Pair Sports Style Eye Protection and Padded Training Sticks. We have Sharkee Trainer Blades, Kali Sticks & Eye Protection Available to purchase. Just email us at info@TriangleSelf-Defense.com and let us know that you need gear!
